Rhiannon Geddis and Penny Steele - WASTAA Co-Presidents

In consultation with Level 3 teaching administrators, our WASTAA Executive has developed a day of quality professional learning experiences that will engage and energize you. The conference theme is Mind the Gaps. Our keynote speaker will be the highly respected Peter Hamilton who will set the scene for Conference by outlining his findings in Effective Educational Leadership.

The day will end with Mr Phillip White who leads Melville Senior High School, one of Perth’s most successful schools, and will share “The view from the principal’s desk – how high-quality Level 3 administrators add value to the school”.

Presentations will follow on topics such as: Positive Education, using the available data, cultural competency, supporting staff well-being, creating and leading effective teams, getting the most out of team meetings and developing your leadership capabilities and skills set.

In the afternoon, Learning Pods (workshop sessions) will be interactive and will encourage input, questions and insights from participants. Topics of these workshops will include: Navigating the School Review process, Career progression, Student Services supporting the care-givers, and Collaboration – building the team and managing staff.
